GT Sport Psychology is run by Gillian Thomas (CPsychol), a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She has a BSc (Hons) and MSc from the University of Chichester. 

Gilly has worked with athletes from a wide variety of sports and ability levels ranging from recreational sport to international athletes including World Cup Winners and Olympians. She currently works full-time for a category 1 professional football academy, consults for a professional rugby union club and works with an organisation who provide support for the UKs best young athletes.  She has experience working within golf, tennis, rugby union, football, badminton, swimming, fencing, dancing, athletics, gymnastics, equestrian and archery.

Gilly also works within mental health, as the Lead Sport Psychologist for Brave Mind, a charity who aims to promote positive mental health and wellbeing within rugby union.

Gilly has played sport competitively for much of her life, winning age group national championships in football and rugby union. She also played national level badminton as a junior, ranking in the top 50 in the country. Gilly was also lucky enough to be a Games Maker at London 2012, an experience that reinforced her passion for sport - and taught her the rules of handball!

 

Gilly is also a Mental Health First aider and has completed various CPD courses in eating disorders in athletes and suicide prevention. She has also completed the UK Anti-Doping Clean Sport Advisory course.
